Visit this compact military outpost with its distinctive reddish-hued stones that served as a crucial checkpoint along the Inca road system, offering a glimpse into how the empire controlled movement throughout its vast territories.

How long does the Cusco City Tour typically last?

The standard Cusco City Tour usually lasts approximately 4-5 hours, including transportation time between sites. Half-day tours are most common, This tour also, is the most purchased tour.

Our Cusco City Tour includes visits to the magnificent  Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), and the impressive nearby archaeological sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.

Some parts of the Cusco City Tour involve walking on uneven surfaces and climbing stairs, particularly at archaeological sites like Sacsayhuamán. While the city center locations are more accessible, we recommend contacting us in advance if you have mobility concerns so we can suggest appropriate modifications.

Most City Tours do not include the entrance fees to the attractions. Visitors typically need to purchase either individual tickets or the Cusco Tourist Ticket (Boleto Turístico del Cusco), which provides access to multiple sites. We can advise on the best ticket option based on your planned itinerary.

Morning tours (starting around 9 AM) are popular as they offer favorable lighting for photography and typically have milder weather. However, afternoon tours (starting around 1 PM) can be less crowded at certain sites. Both options are available, and we recommend booking in advance during high season (June-August).
