Most Frequently Asked Questions:

Here we answer the most popular questions

How long does the Valle Sur Tour typically last?

The Valle Sur Tour is a full-day excursion, typically lasting around 5-6 hours. We depart from Cusco in the morning (around 8:30 AM) and return in the late afternoon (approximately 2:30 PM), giving you ample time to explore each fascinating site without feeling rushed.

Our comprehensive Valle Sur Tour includes visits to the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas” in Andahuaylillas, the pre-Inca ruins of Pikillacta, and the ingenious water engineering at Tipon.

Yes, the Valle Sur Tour is suitable for most travelers, including children and active seniors. The sites involve moderate walking with some uneven terrain and steps, particularly at Tipon. However, the pace is relaxed, and transportation between sites provides rest periods. We recommend comfortable walking shoes and sun protection.

Some tour packages include entrance fees, while others do not. Our standard tour does not include the entrance fees (approximately 70-100 soles total depending on which sites you visit), but we can arrange all-inclusive packages upon request. Most sites are covered by the Boleto Turístico del Cusco (Tourist Ticket), which we can help you purchase.

While the Sacred Valley Tour (north of Cusco) focuses primarily on Inca sites and is more popular, the Valle Sur Tour (south of Cusco) offers a more diverse cultural experience with pre-Inca ruins, Inca engineering, and colonial art. The Southern Valley is less crowded, providing a more authentic experience and unique photo opportunities. Many travelers choose to do both tours to gain a complete understanding of the region’s rich history.

This is a pre-inca site. The size of the settlement is quite impressive. The double wall is quite unique. And the surrounding mountain and valley view is beautiful.
